Lake Yard is proud to host another super Classic Car and Motorbike Day on the late May bank holiday weekend.
Sponsored for the fourth year running by Elite Signs in Poole, this exciting day brings owners and their stunningly restored vehicles together at Lake Yard in nostalgic appreciation of the golden ages of motoring.
Do you own a Classic Car or Motorcycle? Would you like to bring her along for the viewing pleasure of visitors to Lake Yard on Sunday May 29th from 10am? Contact either Derek Patterson on 01202 691792 or Malcolm Ayre on 07711 653310. All entries are free of charge.
The bar and restaurant will be open as usual and we’ll be all set to have an enjoyable Sunday afternoon admiring all the stylish, classic beauties on display.
View from Lake Yard across Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island
It’s back to peace & quiet again in Poole in the aftermath of the extreme weather Storm Katie brought at Easter. The front caused havoc in our normally calm part of the harbour, but we’ve recovered quickly. What about the extreme lows of the equinox tides too? We thought we’d be able to cross the channel on foot from our Marina to the Arne Peninsula the water was so low. Now we’re enjoying some sunny days as April rolls into May and Summer looms on the horizon.
Our wonderful boatyard crew are at their busiest right now with the last of the winter storage boats being relaunched and the daily bookings for boatyard services being handled. Dave and Co. are chomping at the bit to get every boat hoisted out, antifouled, cleaned and back in the water ready for the new season. To book your boat into Lake Yard, call reception on 01202 674531 and have a chat with our team, we’re more than happy to help.
On the Water
As far as other boating news; we have waved goodbye, (for a short while), to our good friends from Australia; the intrepid sailors Trina & Phil Duncan on their yacht Restless Spirit. They will be summering in the Balkans before stopping off back at Lake Yard to winter Restless Spirit with us from late October. It’s always sad to say goodbye, but we find it’s not long before we see the same friendly faces back again year after year. Speaking of friendly faces, Lake Yard extends a very happy “hello again” to our returning moorings customers; welcome back folks! We’re also hoping all of our new moorings customers start to feel right at home as they experience the benefits of Lake Yard for themselves this season. If we can help you with anything, just call up to Reception and ask.
So all of us at Lake Yard are hoping for a summer filled with sunshine, we bet you are too. We love to watch all our resident boats setting off on jaunts in the sun. Where are you planning on going this summer? Drop us a line and let us know. As for people visiting Poole Harbour from elsewhere, we’ve had lots of enquiries about visitor moorings for the summer and many bookings have already been confirmed. We enjoy welcoming new faces to Lake Yard, it’s such a thrill to introduce visiting boat owners to the beauty of coastal Dorset.
Don’t forget to send us photos of you in your boats at Lake Yard and whilst on your travels around Poole Harbour. We’d love to hear from you; email@example.com
